OL Golf

Welcome to the 2010 season of Old Loughburian Golf which, with some breaks, has now been in existence for 44 years.

The 15th Quincentennial Trophy Competition was, as always, at Rothley Park GC. A club competition that OL, non members of the club, are privileged to enter for a competition cost, without an additional Green fee. 2010 Fixtures:

6 May - Spring trophy at Longcliffe GC
16 May - Grafton Morrish Qualifiers at The Leicestershire GC
5 June - Quincentennial Trophy at Rothley Park GC
21 June - Match v Loughborough Grammar School
29 June - Match v Old Nottinghamians at Longcliffe GC
6 October - Autumn Trophy at Lingdale GC

Results 2010

The match against Old Nottinghamians on 29th June was very successful - great weather and the course was magnificent.

We won the match 2 and a half to a half.

Hatj and Paul Graveling won 1 up
Rhys Williams and I halved
Tom Barton and Chris Drane won 5 and 4

Looking forward to next year at Hollinwell.

Ian Agar and Steve Hilton halved with Ed Lowe and Greg Cornes

Ken Stephenson and Ian Johnson lost to Scott Hamilton and Herby Johnson

Grafton Morrish Trophy

The East Midlands Qualifying Tournament was at The Leicestershire Golf Club on 16th May
6 schools were to qualify out of 14 for the National Finals at Hunstanton and Brancaster September.

Following on from last years success The Old Loughburians qualified for the finals, finishing 3rd = with 76 points.

as won by Achilleas Hatjiosif with 41 Points and runner up was Ian Agar with 37 Points.

2009 Grafton Morrish Trophy

Loughborough lost to Lancing by 2/1 at Brancaster in the 2nd Round. Which meant that the team would take part in the Solihull Salver on the Sunday.
