James Castleman (1996-2003) runs the 2008 Flora London Marathon
James Castleman - LGS Head Boy in 2003 - currently a Medic at Cambridge, having just finished his 5th year finals, completed the London Marathon in 4hrs.
James writes: "Five medical students aimed for the finish lines in London and Paris, raising as much money as possible for sick children close to home. Our recent paediatric attachments have shown us what big a difference charities like WellChild can make when children and their families are dealing with serious illness".
One of the students, Di inspired James and the other three Medics, when he successfully completed the Paris marathon.
"We've really appreciated the pledges over the last several months, and as we approach our marathons, your contribution to our fundraising effort will spur us on in our efforts to be as prepared as we can for the big day!" said James.
"Huge thanks to everyone who has already sponsored, and as we start carb loading (!) do upload your card details and show your support for us and our great cause."
Their target was £5,000 and they actually raised £6,250. A fantastic effort! James used the "Just Giving" website to manage his contributions. Although the fundraising function of the address below has expired, if you wish to contribute, James would appreciate your contact.
