First Oxbridge Dinner at Jesus College

Loughborough High School Old Girls' Association and the Old Loughburians' Association are joining in partnership with LES to hold more regional events this year and the first of these is the Oxbridge Dinner at Jesus College, Cambridge on Saturday 28 February 2009.

This is the initiative of Hilary Walters, Oxbridge Coordinator at the Grammar School, and the aim is to gather together our current Oxbridge undergraduates and also to include current staff, former staff and those OLs and OGs living in the Cambridge area, in a ‘fellowship' event.   We hope that this will become an annual event, alternating between the two Universities.

The choice of Jesus College for the first Oxbridge Dinner reflects the long standing relationship between LES and the College.  The Master of Jesus, Professor Mair, is President of the Loughborough Endowed Schools and last September he presented the prizes at the Grammar School's Senior Prize Giving.    With the Grammar School recently achieving a brilliant 19 offers at Oxford and Cambridge Universities this year, there is much to celebrate!

Current Oxbridge and Cambridge undergraduates from LGS and LHS are especially welcome, and the concessionary price of £25 is arranged for them. Places are booking up well so don't delay if you intend to come - contact us today!

Full cost is £42 per person which includes pre dinner drinks, three course dinner, coffee.
